Autumn Summer is ever changing. Every few months we try to put what we do into a short, simple paragraph for this very page, and to be honest, it’s darn near impossible. And that’s the art of it.
Present day Autumn Summer is the product of years of designing, learning from mistakes, and perfecting our craft.
We know that you work hard every day, so we do the same to make your work and home life a little better.
So, with that in mind, we’ll keep it simple:
Autumn Summer designs and crafts unique wooden products, personalized for the homes and offices of people like us.
Ryan comes from a small town out of Baltimore Maryland, and founded Autumn Summer to serve hard working office men - and the women who can’t find gifts for them.
Ryan is very data driven, spends his free time at the gym, and can be found drinking bourbon, researching the newest productivity hack, or unknowingly singing off key to punk rock music.
Lizzie helps with the day to day; shipping, customer service, and packaging.
Lizzie can be found harmonizing to the latest Jason Mraz song, providing moral support to co-workers, and cranking out sterling silver rings in her metal smithing studio.
Alex takes time from her busy college schedule to help us out in the wood shop. Whether it’s sanding, finishing, or prepping pens to be turned, Alex is the one.
Alex can be found cooking extravagant meals, raising your mood when you most need it, and providing strongly needed medical advice.
In Blue, from Asheville, North Carolina was founded in 2008 when Mary Lynn Schroeder was at a concert and thought to herself, “I wonder where he keeps his thoughts, his lyrics”… a journal! That night she created her first leather journal, and the rest is history!
In Blue is our first leather partner, and we chose to work with them because of their unique hand stamping process, their unique array of journals and wallets, and their love of punk rock music.
We first ran into In Blue when Ryan was looking for a leather laptop case for himself, and we’re so glad we did! In Blue makes our journals, wallets, pen pouches, iPhone cases, and flasks.
Michael has been working in clay since 2004, when he trained with Maryland potter: Del Martin, of Foxcross Pottery. In 2012, Michael earned the distinguished honor of “Master Artisan” from the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
An understanding of the relationship between simplicity and functionality is easily spotted in his pieces, with the love of craftsmanship as the motivating force behind his work.
"A well-conceived, well-made piece can be enjoyed for generations."
Michael is a full-time potter and owner of FireRobin Pottery. He can be found in his studio in Leitersburg, Maryland, crafting pots with a strong sense of utility.
We met Dawn Pritchard of Silver Linings Lavender at the Carroll County Biz Challenge in 2015. Ryan was pitching Autumn Summer to a panel of judges for an investment (and we won!) and we started talking to famous Dawn (who won the 2013 Biz Challenge) after the ceremony.
Dawn is a talented and creative candle, soap, and beard oil maker from Eldersburg, MD, and we love to carry her products!
Two Guys Bow Ties was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2012 when founders Adam Teague and Tim Paslay were looking to fill a void in the men’s accessories category.
Tim and Adam hand craft bowties and lapel pins that fuse old school craftsman ship with modern style, and each bowtie is made from one of a variety of hardwoods, including Zebrawood, Bocote, and Canary.
We think you'll love these unique accessories as much as we do.
